The Hearth is a fan-made World of Warcraft: Forever community app for r/wowforever, operated by Demonly LLC. It runs as an interactive post inside Reddit. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to remove it.
The short version
The Hearth stores nothing at all about you unless you turn on alerts. If you do, it stores three numbers: which alert types you picked, which time-of-day window you picked, and a version marker. Turning alerts off deletes them immediately.
If you never turn on alerts
Nothing. Reading the post writes no record about you. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or any tracking of what you view or tap. Requests from the app to our data service are server-to-server and carry no Reddit user identity.
If you turn on alerts
One record, keyed to your Reddit user ID (the t2_… identifier Reddit provides to apps), containing:

That is the complete record — roughly eight bytes.
We explicitly do not store: your username, your timezone, your country or any location, your IP address, your device or browser details, your email address, any history of notifications sent to you, or any free text you write.
About the send window. The alerts panel asks you to pick an afternoon, evening, or late-evening window in your own local time. Your browser converts that choice into a plain UTC hour before sending it. Your timezone itself is never transmitted to us and never stored— only the resulting hour range.
Whether you are subscribed at all is held by Reddit, not by us.The Hearth reads that status live each time you open the post and keeps no copy of it. Reddit delivers the notifications; we only tell Reddit which users should receive a given message. Reddit’s own Privacy Policy governs that processing.
How we use it
Only to decide whether to include you in a given notification, and only for the alert types and time window you chose. We do not profile you, do not build audience segments, do not sell or share your data with anyone, and do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- You turn alerts off — your record is deleted immediately.
- You stop visiting — your record is deleted automatically 30 days after your last visit to the post. The expiry is extended only by you opening the post, never by us sending you something.
- You delete your Reddit account— your Reddit user ID leaves Reddit’s opted-in list, so we stop touching your record entirely and the 30-day expiry deletes it.
We keep no backups or archives of these records, and no de-identified copies.
Your choices
Tap the bell, then “Turn Off Notifications” — one tap, no confirmation step, and your record is gone. Each alert type and the send window are independent toggles in the same panel. Alerts are entirely optional: the countdown, the Blizzard tracker, news, roadmap and codex work identically whether they are on or off.
Data we fetch (not about you)
The Hearth fetches official Blizzard forum posts and news headlines from this domain, which mirrors Blizzard’s public feeds. They contain no information about you, and no information about you is sent to them.
Children
The Hearth is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Reddit requires account holders to be 13 or older.
